In 2017, Immigration Policy put into place by the Trump Administration began separating children from their families as an unusually cruel measure to deter illegal immigration. In 2018 the US Judicial system deemed family separation and indeterminate detention of immigrants to be inhumane. Despite being ordered to discontinue, thousands of additional families have been separated BY CBP at the border after requesting asylum through legal ports of entry.
Since 2017 more than four dozen immigrants have died in US custody of preventable causes and dozens more have been intentionally harmed through medical neglect and mistreatment, including genocidal forced and coerced sterilizations.
Migrant mistreatment by cbp under the directives of the United states government has continued through to today. As trump resumes the presidency in 2025, the unethical and injurious targeting of immigrants is expected to continue and escalate to unconscionable levels, in the name of us, the people of the United states of america.
D4CC stands to fight back for migrant rights, health, and lives, to declare OUR country one that is made whole through welcoming those who see the true beauty in American diversity, inclusion, and vibrant embrace of those from all cultures, religions, physical abilities, races, genders and financial class.
Our Mission
We, the physicians and healthcare workers of Doctors for Camp Closure, seek to end the inhumane treatment of those coming to our borders, asking for our help. Their long journey to our borders are to be met with compassion, dignity, and a fair, efficient application process. To that end, it requires an intent to protect the health of applicants, the sanctity of the family bond, and the virtue of an honest, transparent application for legal entry to the US carried out in a manner that sufficiently protects the most vulnerable. These are the ideals upon which our nation was founded and has flourished.
““I had always hoped that this land might become a safe and agreeable asylum
to the virtuous and persecuted part of mankind,
to whatever nation they might belong.””
